The Twins are coming off a stellar year, finishing with a 101-66 record and a first place spot in the AL Central. Minnesota is one of six teams left standing in pursuit of the World Series, and the squad only had a 35.8 percent chance of making the playoffs before the season started, according to FanGraphs.

The Twins set the MLB record with 307 home runs during the regular season in 2018-19, though, the Yankees only finished one homer behind them.
The 2019 matchup represents the sixth time in the last 16 years that the Yankees and Twins have met in the playoffs. The prior postseason contests have been incredibly one sided, with New York winning all six of the series.
