The Twin Cities should see a sunny and mild day Wednesday, but don’t expect to see much of the Sun in the coming days. Cloudy, misty, and rainy days are likely through the weekend.

The anticipated "January thaw" is on track for the rest of the week with highs rising above freezing. Overnight lows may not fall below freezing by this weekend.

Below is snowfall map and individual reports from the winter weather event Monday through Tuesday morning. The highest snowfall totals of around 2.5 inches were reported just south and east of the Twin Cities metro area.

Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport reported a total of 0.6 inches. A total of 0.4 inches of snow was reported in Eau Claire, according to the National Weather Service.

Several areas across central and southern Minnesota and west central Wisconsin reported ice accumulation as well that caused roads and sidewalks to become slippery.
