Minnesota Weather: Icy Wintry Mix Followed by January Thaw
After the Twin Cities metro is hit by an icy wintry mix Monday, it's off to a prolonged January thaw from Tuesday into the weekend.
A wintry mix over Iowa will spread slowly northward into southern Minnesota early Monday afternoon. The wintry mix will reach the southern Twin Cities and adjoining areas of west central Wisconsin during the late afternoon and early evening hours.
The mixed precipitation will lead to slick spots on roads and hazardous travel conditions, according to the National Weather Service.
