Minnesota Weather: Rain, Flooding Possible Christmas Day

A wintry mix on Christmas morning should change to rain by the afternoon in the Twin Cities.

Temperatures will remain mild for the balance of the work week, but if you were wishing for thunderstorms for Christmas, you may be in luck. A powerful storm will develop over the Plains Christmas Day.

Rainfall amounts may exceed an inch Sunday afternoon and evening, leading to flooding issues. The best chance for snow with this system is to the north and west of Alexandria, Minnesota.
