Morning Shooting Leaves One Deceased In Minneapolis

Officers provided immediate aid and wound management until relieved by Minneapolis Fire personnel.

February 28, 2021 (MINNEAPOLIS) On Sunday morning at 6:22 am, Minneapolis Police were notified of a ShotSpotter notification on the 3200 block of Logan Avenue North.

Officers arrived and located an adult female in the street suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers provided immediate aid and wound management until relieved by Minneapolis Fire personnel. The victim was transported to an area hospital by ambulance in critical condition.

The Minneapolis Police Department was advised by the medical examiner’s office that the victim had died a few hours after arriving at the hospital.

Crime Lab personnel responded to document the scene and collect evidence. Due to the seriousness of the injuries, the Homicide Unit sent detectives who started an investigation.

The Medical Examiner will release the identity of the victim, along with the nature and cause of death in the days to come.
