Nathan Baller on Tips for Working on the Road
Working remotely isn't something that is not unheard of nowadays.

Working remotely isn’t something that is not unheard of nowadays. You get the option to work from anywhere in the world thanks to the beauty of the internet. You can travel to more places than you could if you had to be in the office from 9 to 5 every week. But it might not be best for everyone and should be carefully considered. Here are some tips in making it work!
INTERNET CONNECTION
While traveling it could be difficult to find a trustworthy internet connection. You want to make sure the hotel you are staying at has a decent connection and save the work that needs the internet until you get to your destination. Find coffee shops or co-working spaces that have cool WiFi speeds in case your destination does not have proper WiFi for your work.
TIME MANAGEMENT
Take the time while on the road to get work done that does not require the internet connection I mentioned above. If you need to write a report or create a presentation on PowerPoint, that can easily be done without an internet connection. Before you leave your WiFi oasis for the day, make sure you check your email and send or schedule any emails that need your attention.

STICK TO A ROUTINE
Wake up, eat breakfast, and start working at the same time you would if you were in the office. This increases productivity and makes sure you aren’t getting distracted or even starting your work too late. Even setting a schedule before you know you’ll be working from the road can highly benefit your work. While creating your routine, choose a hard cut-off point for when you should stop working. Don’t check your email after this point and enjoy your evenings.
KNOW WHAT YOU’RE GETTING INTO
Social media has skewed people’s views on working from the road. It’s not a glamorous lifestyle though it is a great option to have. Invest some time into researching what it may look like if you were to work from home. It can be great for some but others may have trouble adapting to the work/lifestyle choice.
