Target Closes 2 Dozen Twin Cities Locations Amid Protests
The company said its focus is on team members' safety and helping the community heal.

Target has announced that a number of its stores in the Twin Cities area will be closed until further notice following events Wednesday night where a Minneapolis store was completely ransacked during a demonstration for George Floyd, who died after an arrest by Minneapolis officers on Monday.
In a video, an officer was seen placing his knee on Floyd's neck as the 46-year-old man pleaded that he could not breathe.
"We are heartbroken by the death of George Floyd and the pain it is causing our community," Target said in a statement Thursday. "At this time, we have made the decision to close a number of our stores until further notice. Our focus will remain on our team members’ safety and helping our community heal."
