Target Leaving City Center In Move To Flexible Workplace: Report
Employees will still have the option to work in-person in Target's other Minneapolis office spaces.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Target is vacating its City Center offices in Minneapolis in a shift to a more flexible model that incorporates both remote and on-site work, local media sources report.
Nearly 1 million square feet of space comprise the City Center office, which was the daily workplace for some 3,500 employees before the pandemic began, the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal reports.
The displaced employees will still have a "home base" in Minneapolis, either in Target's downtown office space or in Brooklyn Park.

In a letter to employees, Target chief human resources officer Melissa Kremer said employees will be given the choice to work remotely or in person in a company program named "Flex for Your Day," the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
"Our headquarters will always play a central role in who we are and how we work at Target," the letter reads, according to the publication. "We believe in the culture, collaboration, and competitive advantages of working together at our vibrant headquarters in the Twin Cities and around the world. But the reality is that 'Flex for Your Day' will require less office space, so we'll be ending our City Center operations in downtown Minneapolis."
