Watch Replay: The Last Time Minnesota Beat Wisconsin Football

The Minnesota Golden Gophers beat the Wisconsin Badgers in 2003 with a game-winning field goal with one second remaining.

On Saturday, Nov. 26, the Minnesota Golden Gophers try to take back Paul Bunyan's axe from rival Wisconsin Badgers, who haven't lost to the Gophers since 2003. It's the longest winning streak in the history of the series, which began in 1890. Minnesota still leads the series 59-58-8.

The last time Minnesota beat Wisconsin, the Gophers still played in the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. Gopher kicker Rhys Lloyd connected on a game-winning field goal with one second remaining to give the Gophers a 37-34 win over Wisconsin on Nov. 8, 2003.



Minnesota heads to Madison Saturday looking to win nine games in a season for the first time in 13 years. The Golden Gophers also sport a 5-3 record in the Big Ten and sit tied with Iowa in second place one game behind Big Ten West leaders Wisconsin (6-2) and Nebraska (6-2).
