I don’t have evidence to support my answer of zero. But being a chocolate lover every day is chocolate day for me. I do appreciate the effort of the chocolate manufacturers who undoubtedly prevailed upon the powers that be to give them a day, though. It gives me another excuse to sing chocolate’s praises! And it makes for good press because chocolate is the reigning favorite flavor of a majority of Americans, according to a 2011 Harris poll. Let’s face it, chocolate sells!

Still, I wouldn’t dream of asking readers to wait for July 7th to celebrate chocolate! Instead I invite you to go on a virtual scavenger hunt for chocolate. Just click the links in this post to find a bunch of free and yummy chocolate recipes and interesting health info connected to chocolate.

Iced Chocolate Coffee

Ingredients

·     1 C Brewed Coffee
·     1 T Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup
·     1 Tall Glass filled with Ice
·     Whipped Cream to taste

Procedure
·     Pour your favorite blend of hot coffee into a cup.
·     Use a spoon to thoroughly blend chocolate sauce into coffee.
·     Let coffee cool in refrigerator for 5 minutes.
·     Pour cooled coffee over ice in glass.
·     Top with Whipped Cream to taste.

As you can see, you don’t have to wait for National Chocolate Day to celebrate this scrumptious treat. There are plenty of reasons to celebrate all year long.
