Deadly Crash Closes Excelsior Boulevard Until Afternoon
The west metro crash left a motorcyclist dead Wednesday morning.

MINNETONKA, MN — Excelsior Boulevard in the west metro is closed after a fatal motorcycle crash Wednesday morning. Just after 8:20 a.m., Minnetonka police were called to the scene of a collision at the intersection of Excelsior Boulevard and Fairview Avenue.
The crash involved a 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle and a 2012 Ford pickup truck. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck was not injured and was released from the scene, according to a news release.

Minnetonka police are investigating with help from the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office crime lab. The Minnesota State Patrol is conducting a crash reconstruction.
Excelsior Boulevard Closed at Fairview Ave.
Due to the accident and investigation, Excelsior Boulevard is closed in both directions at Fairview Avenue. Authorities anticipate the closure will last until approximately 1 p.m.
