Head-On Crash Kills 1 In Minnetonka
Police are working to determine the cause of the crash, including whether alcohol or drugs were a factor.

MINNETONKA, MN — One man is dead following a head-on crash in Minnetonka Friday night. Just before 11 p.m. on Aug. 10, police were told of a vehicle driving eastbound in the westbound lane of Highway 7 near Vine Hill Road.
While the incident was being reported, the vehicle driving the wrong way collided head-on with another vehicle, according to police. A third vehicle swerved into the ditch to avoid the crash, investigators said.
The victim of the head-on crash was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. KARE 11 identified the victim as a 68-year-old man from Excelsior.

The driver who swerved to avoid the crash was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The driver of the vehicle heading the wrong direction was also transported to HCMC and is currently in stable condition, according to police.
