Recycle your batteries

Batteries make our lives more convenient, but can be dangerous when they’re not disposed of properly. Some can catch fire in the trash, or contain materials hazardous to our health and the environment.

Instead of throwing batteries in the trash, be a battery hero and recycle them at a Hennepin County Drop-Off Facility! All types of household batteries are accepted.

Thanks for doing your part to put batteries in their place!


Apply for a deconstruction grant

Deconstruction is the process of carefully dismantling building structures to salvage materials for reuse. To promote this unique form of recycling, Hennepin County is offering grants to help offset deconstruction’s additional time and labor costs.
