“We have had the opportunity to take part in number of events like this the past few months,” Boerboom said. “They are always well attended and cover topics that are fresh on the minds of our residents. We end up talking about current events that happen locally and nationally because citizens really want to understand how police prepare and train for them.”

The forum will be streamed via Facebook Live and Zoom. It’s sponsored by the Hopkins Race and Equity Initiative and will feature Boerboom, Hopkins Chief Brent Johnson and Chief Mike Harcey of St. Louis Park. View this flyer to learn more and access the online streams.

“I hope people will take the time to join us,” Boerboom said. “Each session has been a great opportunity to build new relationships. We saw a need back in 2016 to reach out in different ways and connect with people who do not always have a strong voice in our community.”
