Minnetonka Community Ed to offer a novel writing class for teens
Looking for a fun activity for a teen who loves to write? Minnetonka Community Ed is offering a novel writing for teens class this summer.
As part of Sigma’s Bookshelf’s continuing mission to help educate kids about the novel writing and publishing process, company co-founder Rachel M. Anderson will be leading a novel writing class through Minnetonka Community education this summer. Here is a link to the class registration page.
If you’re not already familiar with Sigma’s Bookshelf, it is a book publishing company exclusively for teen writers that Rachel and her now 17-year-old son, Justin, started up in 2016. The company now has 8 teen authored books on the market. See them here: www.sigmasbookshelf.com/books.
Here are the details: Novel Writing for Teens is a 6-week long workshop series intended for 6th - 12th graders that will be offered on Tuesday mornings between 10 a.m. - Noon at the Minnetonka Community Education Center, 4584 Vine Hill Road, Excelsior, MN 55331.The class is scheduled to be held in the 206 Greenwood Room. Class dates are Tuesdays…. June 19, June 26 , July 3, July 10, July 17 and July 24.

During this workshop series, develop your novel writing skills and then learn about publishing options and the steps involved in bringing a book to market. Class sessions include a lecture, writing time and opportunities for one-on-one interaction with instructor Rachel M. Anderson, co-founder of the nonprofit publishing company, Sigma’s Bookshelf, what is believed to be the first book publishing company exclusively for teenage authors.
