The Strategic Profile and Community Dashboard is powered by software that tracks the progress made on key city initiatives. Employees at all levels can review their work on actions and initiatives in personal, color-coded dashboards. Blue means ‘completed,’ green ‘in progress,’ yellow ‘some disruption,’ and so on. They receive email reminders to help them stay on track and ensure they make regular performance updates.
The plan developed by the council identified 6 strategic priorities. They are Financial Strength and Operational Excellence, Safe and Healthy Community, Sustainability and Natural Environment, Livable and Well-Planned Development, Infrastructure and Asset Management as well as Community Inclusiveness. The second level of the plan identified 21 key strategies followed by 84 action steps.

As city staff collect data and track progress, the dashboard will be updated on a quarterly basis. The plan is built to align with the annual Minnetonka Community Survey which has tracked citizen satisfaction with city services and quality of life for more than 20 years. The council will receive regular updates and approve an updated strategic profile for 2022 at the end of this year.
