  • Step one began Friday, May 7 and includes initial steps to relax restrictions, primarily in outdoor settings.
  • An end to mask requirements for outdoor events except at large venues with more than 500 people
  • Elimination of the state-established mandatory closing time for bars, restaurants and food and beverage service at other places of public accommodation
  • Step two begins on May 28, when any remaining capacity and distancing limits will come to an end. This include restrictions on indoor events and gatherings. Requirements that will remain include:
  • Face coverings indoors and for outdoor events that exceed 500 people
  • Businesses and other venues must have plans that keep their employees and customers safe guided by a minimal universal state guidance document that includes no new requirements
  • The third step will go into effect once 70 percent of Minnesotans age 16 or older receive at least one dose of the vaccine, or on July 1, whichever comes first. Any remaining face covering and work preparedness plan requirements will then end.

Minnetonka city leadership continues to monitor new executive orders issued by the governor and will adjust social distancing requirements based on those documents. Please consult Minnesota's Stay Safe Plan for more guidance.
