Albina Rose Nerud Trenda was born March 15, 1921, on the family farm at Lonsdale, Minnesota, to John and Albina (Maxa) Nerud.
She was baptized, confirmed and attended school at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lonsdale. After her education she stayed at home and helped on the farm. In 1936, Albina met a young man from North Dakota named Clarence Trenda who was visiting his cousin. Clarence decided to stay in Lonsdale and they married on November 22, 1938, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. After marriage they farmed near Webster (‘38-46) near Faribault (‘46-50) near Northfield (‘50-56). In 1956, they bought their farm in Greenvale Township where they remained until moving to Northfield in 2002. Albina also spent several years working at Ochs Department Store in Faribault.
Albina was a member of the Church of St. Dominic, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and was a longtime 4H leader. She enjoyed gardening and attended Farmer’ Market, sewing, embroidery, baking, making candy and was longtime exhibitor at the County Fair. She was a hard worker with a calm and happy disposition and will be greatly missed.
