
Anthony “Ank” George Malecha was born September 9, 1956, in Northfield, Minnesota, to George and Delores (Mach) Malecha. He was baptized, confirmed and attended parochial school at St. Dominic Catholic Church. He graduated Northfield High School in 1975 and attended the University of Minnesota where he received his bachelors degree in Economics. While studying at the University he participated in the study abroad program in Poland. The time he spent in Poland created friendships that have lasted throughout his life. In 1984, Anthony married and through this union, four daughters became a part of his life. In 1987, Anthony settled in Cresco, Iowa, and began working as a carpenter/contractor. In 2005, after many great years in Cresco, he moved to Sanibel Island, Florida. There along with his brother Ken formed their contracting business – RAM.
Ank enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing cards and following the Twins. He loved going to the cabin, going out on his boat and most of all spending time with his family and friends. He had a wonderful ability to add humor to any situation, and his kind, caring, and selfless nature was extended to everyone he met.
Survivors include 4 daughters: Valerie and husband Stacey Wilberding of Elma, Iowa, Naomi and husband Jason Bye of Cresco, Iowa, Katy Malecha of Cresco, Audra and husband Shawn Williams of Tampa, Florida; 5 grandchildren: Colter, Hunter, Brady, Samantha and Vanessa; 7 siblings and their spouses: Mike (Jan) of Bloomington, Ken (Judi) of Colorado Springs, Joan (David) Hinderscheit of Northfield, Mark (Zen) of Northfield, Fran (Lisa) of Fountain Hills, Arizona, Tom (Cathy) of Waseca, Jon (Lisa) of Northfield; his brother-in-law, Tim (Olesya) Anderson of Mankato; special friend, Patti; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a multitude of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Mary Anderson, his infant brother Jerry; and his nephews Paul and Jake.

Anthony passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at his home in Fort Myers, at the age of 56.
A memorial mass celebrating Anthony’s life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 2, 2013, at the Church of St. Dominic in Northfield with Fr. Dennis Dempsey officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lonsdale. All of his RAM employees are considered honorary pall bearers. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday beginning at 9AM.

A Celebration of Anthony’s Life will be held on Sanibel Island at a future date.
