Joann (Jody) Glover, 70

Joann (Jody) Glover was born October 7, 1942, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Bob and Olivia House. Her father was commissioned in the US Navy and served in the South Pacific during WWII. Jody was raised by her grandparents, Carl and Bertha Bareither in Eureka, South Dakota, during the period of her formative years and it remained some of her fondest memories of childhood.  Granny and Grandpa Bareither helped form her vision of the future as well as her strong practice of caring for others.

Following WWII, the family lived in Rapid City, South Dakota.  Jody graduated from Rapid City Central and went on to receive her RN pin from St. John ‘s School of Nursing.  She worked at various medical disciplines on the South Dakota Reservations, Vermillion, SD, and Littleton Colorado.  She relocated to Aberdeen, South Dakota.
Jody married Jim Glover on October 16, 1968, in Aberdeen, retired from nursing, and became a “stay at home” mom to raise her three boys born in 4 years.  She was a “Swim Mom” and cheerleader for swimming, dance and other athletic activities that the boys participated in, as well as a volunteer in the Roncalli School system. She also found time to participate and help in many of her husband’s work activities.

Jody and Jim returned to the Midwest in 2009 from Arizona in order to be closer to their grandchildren and family members.  Jody had a very strong desire to help others and did so where ever she lived.  She thoroughly enjoy her social and exercise activities in Northfield.  She was a member of the Church of St. Dominic.
