Christmas 2017: What's Open, Closed In Northfield

From liquor stores to the post office, here's a look at what's open and what's closed on Christmas in Northfield.

NORTHFIELD, MN — Christmas Day falls on a Monday this year, and many government offices and businesses will be closed Dec. 25 in observance of the holiday. Here's list of what's open and what's closed in Northfield for Christmas 2017:

  • Post office: Closed
  • Federal offices: Closed
  • Northfield: City offices are closed. Garbage pickup will be delayed by one day.
  • Dakota County: License and service centers will be closed Saturday, Dec. 23 and Monday, Dec. 25. All Dakota County library locations will be closed Sunday, Dec. 24 and Monday, Dec. 25.
  • Banks: Closed
  • Gas stations: Most will remain open
  • Northfield Schools: Winter break lasts from Dec. 21 through Jan. 1.
  • Liquor stores: All Minnesota liquor stores are legally required to close at 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve and must remain closed on throughout Christmas Day

  • Other retailers: Call ahead to confirm holiday hours
