City Of Northfield Announces Winners Of 2020 Stormwater Pollution Poster Contest

Cannon River Watershed Partnership (CRWP) and the City of Northfield are happy to announce the winners of the 2020 Stormwater Pollution Poster Contest. Northfield students in grades 2 through 5 were asked to create a poster that represented the theme “Be the Solution to Stormwater Pollution.” The top three posters in each category will be displayed at Northfield City Hall throughout the year. Additionally, first place receives free custard for a year from Culver’s, second place receives ten free admissions to the Northfield Pool and a CRWP “Do 1 Thing” t-shirt, and third place also receives ten free admissions to the Northfield Pool.

The contest is co-sponsored by the City of Northfield and Cannon River Watershed Partnership to help educate students and families about what they can do to keep city stormwater and the Cannon River clean and safe. Three simple ways residents can keep the water that runs into city storm drains clean are (1) by picking up litter in their neighborhood, (2) sweeping grass and fertilizer pellets off of sidewalks and streets and back into their lawn, and (3) by picking up after their dog.

CRWP and the City thanks participants in the contest and everyone taking action to make sure that only rain goes down the drain in their neighborhood.
