Cold Pushes Northfield Public Schools to Late Start Tuesday, Jan. 28

While dozens of school districts closer to the Twin Cities metro will be closing for the day Tuesday, Northfield Public Schools is opting for a late start. 

Northfield Public Schools announced Monday afternoon classes will begin two hours late on Tuesday, Jan. 28, because of the cold weather.

When school starts two hours late, half-day morning Kindergarten and preschool classes are canceled. Morning KidVentures is also canceled.

Winds at sustained speeds of around  10 to 15 mph are expected again Tuesday with temperatures in the teens to 20 below zero Tuesday morning, creating wind chill effects of 30 to 40 below zero.
