- approved a 1-percent salary increase for Rice County Attorney Paul Beaumaster, Auditor/Treasurer Fran Windschitl and Sheriff Troy Dunn. Beaumaster's new salary is $110,156.19; Windschit's new salary is $108,494.37; Dunn's new salary is $100,992.40.
- approved a 10-percent salary increase for Recorder Marsha DeGroot, who commissioners say was hired at a very low salary years ago. DeGroot's new salary is $66,427.66.Â
- Approved with a 4-1 vote (Commissioner Galen Malecha dissented) to give the board of commissioners a 1-percent salary increase. Commissioners' new salaries are $28,789.04 and the board chair's new salary is $29,652.59
- discussed the 2013 budget and levy and will vote on it next week. The preliminary tax levy increase was set at 4.48 percent.
