Coronavirus Spread Drops Dramatically In Northfield
A new tool that assesses the risk of gathering with others in Dakota County indicates that the COVID-19 vaccine is working.
NORTHFIELD, MN — New data shows that coronavirus spread is dwindling throughout Minnesota, including in Northfield. Declining case numbers indicate the COVID-19 vaccines are blunting virus transmission.

In 2020, researchers from several universities created an event risk planning tool for every county in the nation. The map shows the risk of coronavirus transmission based on an event's size and location.
This tool shows the estimated chance — between 0 and 100 percent — that you'll encounter at least one person with the coronavirus at an event in your county.
