Italy in Northfield: Carleton Professor to Speak on Italy's Many Layers of History

Join Bill North, an associate professor of history at Carleton College, on Thursday, Oct. 6 as he talks about the pleasures of exploring Italy's many layers of history.

Like a mosaic, Italian landscapes and cultures are composed of elements drawn from many times and possessing many different qualities, and nowhere can this mosaic-like quality be observed better than Rome and Sicily.

North will share images and perspectives accumulated over years of living, travelling, and teaching in Italy with his wife Victoria, according to a news release.

He will also offer some thoughts on the practicalities of Italian travel and answer questions.
