Meet the Artists Behind Northfield's 9/11 Commemoration

The public is invited to see the 9/11 exhibit and meet the artists at an informal gathering on Friday, Sept. 30.

This year, the nation recognized the fifteenth anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy.

Northfield is acknowledging the events of that period with an art exhibit “9/11: A Fifteen Year Anniversary Commemoration” on display in City Hall.

The public is invited to see the exhibits and meet the artists at an informal gathering on Friday, Sept. 30 in City Hall, 801 Washington Street, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.

In this exhibit, Northfield artists Wendell Arneson, Marybeth Coyle, Toni Easterson, Jill Ewald, Shawnee Langworthy, Sharol Nau, Riki Kölbl Nelson, Don Roos, John Saurer and Mar Valdencantos present their look at the tragedy and the rebuilding of the country.

The works in this powerful exhibit include paintings, drawings, photographs, prints, collages, textiles, and combinations of these materials, according to a news release.

Also on display in City Hall is art by local Northfield students.
