Minnesota Girl, 17, Hospitalized After Boulder Struck Her Car

WABASHA COUNTY, MN — A 17-year-old girl from Red Wing suffered non-life threatening injuries Friday when a boulder hit her car. Sydney Frances Flack was driving a 2015 Ford Focus southbound on Highway 61 when a boulder came off the side of the hill and collided with the vehicle, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Wabasha ambulance, police and county deputies assisted on scene. Flack was transported to Saint Elizabeth's Medical Center for treatment.

"We have quite a few roads where rocks can fall from above," the Wabasha County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.
