Mother Could Face Charges After Toddler Falls Out Of Moving Car

Video from a dashcam shows the child falling into the road while strapped into a safety seat.

MANKATO, MN — Charges may be filed against a mother after a 2-year-old child was seen falling out of a moving vehicle in Mankato Monday. At 11:45 a.m. on Jan. 14, police were dispatched to the report of a child in the road on Minnesota Street.

The toddler had fallen from the rear-driver's side of the car while the mother was driving, police said. The child was examined by ambulance staff and was apparently uninjured.

A motorist with video of the incident filed a public safety report. Chad Mock uploaded the video to Facebook, saying "I'd never have believed it" if hadn't happened right in front of him.
