Northfield Area Drivers Urged To 'Keep Cool' On The Roads
State transportation officials are asking that drivers be away of the highway work zones in southern Minnesota.

NORTHFIELD, MN — The Minnesota Department of Transportation is asking drivers to slow down, plan ahead and "keep cool" while driving through the work zones throughout southern Minnesota during the 4th of July weekend.
"More than 200 projects will be underway on state roads this construction season. While most work will be suspended over the July 4 holiday, work zones will remain in place for many projects throughout the state," the agency said in a news release.
"Motorists should also be aware that the fine for speeding in a work zone is $300."
