Alcohol Involved In Fatal Highway 169 Crash: MSP

The vehicle was traveling on Highway 169 at high rates of speed when it hit the shoulder and rolled multiple times, authorities say.

PLYMOUTH, MN — A 29-year-old man from Corcoran, Minnesota has died after crash on Highway 169 in Plymouth Saturday. Christopher Steven Labelle, a passenger in the crash, was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the fatal crash, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. The driver of vehicle, Abel Morara Kebasso, survived and is suspected of having been under the influence of alcohol.

A Honda Element, driven by Kebasso, was traveling north on Highway 169 near Medicine Lake Road at high rates of speed when it went off the roadway to the left, hitting the dirt shoulder and rolling multiple times, according to authorities. Kebasso is form Seattle, Washington.

Kebasso was taken by ambulance to North Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Labelle, the passenger, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
