Annual Plymouth Fire Department Open House is Oct. 12
Free family fun at the event including a grease fire demo and a rollover simulator.

The Plymouth Fire Department;a annual open house is from 12-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at Fire Station III, 3300 Dunkirk Lane.
The annual event will provide the opportunity for families to have fun while learning about safety. Emergency service personnel will provide demonstrations, displays and hands-on activities.Â
The following activities will be available for visitors to the open house:

• Learn how to use a hook and ring buoy for water rescue
• Meet a Police K9
• Climb inside a fire truck
• Shoot water from a fire hose
• Enjoy free food from local restaurants
• Watch the North Memorial Air Care Helicopter land
Children who bring a drawing of their home fire escape plan, a colored fire safety poster or a non-perishable food item for donation will be eligible to enter a drawing to win a fire truck ride to Honey & Mackie’s ice cream shop, 16725 County Road 24, to enjoy a free ice cream cone.
Free pumpkins will be available, harvest permitting, though a poor pumpkin harvest is predicted this year. Bicycle helmets will not be sold this year.
