Armstrong Student Wins Jewish Solo Artist Contest
Armstrong High School junior Corbin Jerde was a winner of the Twin Cities Jewish Chorale's First Annual Young Solo Artist Competition.

According to a Robbinsdale School District press release:
Corbin Jerde, a junior at , was named along with Laura Block from the Blake School as joint winners of the Twin Cities Jewish Chorale’s First Annual Young Solo Artist Competition, held on Jan. 29. Entrants submitted recorded performances of works by Jewish composers, and finalists were invited to a live audition.
Corbin began her formal singing career in fifth grade as a member of the Robbinsdale All-District Choir. Since then, she has sung with the Bel Canto Girls Choir and the Minnesota Project Opera, and currently sings in the Robbinsdale Armstrong Concert Choir.

Last summer, Corbin traveled to Australia to perform at the Sydney Opera House; in July, she will travel to San Francisco for the Golden Gate International Choral Festival, where she will compete in both the solo and ensemble categories.
Corbin will perform her solo at the Twin Cities Jewish Chorale’s Jewish Pops Concert 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, at the Adath Jeshurun Synagogue, 10500 Hillside Lane West in Minnetonka. The concert will be multi-generational, with concert musicians ranging in age from 16 to 85. Tickets cost $15 or $10 for seniors and students and can be purchased at the door or online.Â
