Minnesota Statute 244.052 and 253D require that public notification be given when a Level 3 registrant moves into a community. All offenders required to register as predatory offenders are assigned a level 1, 2 or 3 when they leave prison. Level 3 designation is considered the highest risk to reoffend.
At age 24, Hampton engaged in sexual contact with an unknown female teenager. Contact included penetration. Hampton gained access by meeting the victim in a public place and inviting her to his home. Hampton used coercion to gain compliance.
Hampton has served his sentence and is off probation.
No additional information will be released at this time. However, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions at the virtual community notification meeting Aug. 24.
