Dogs Rescued From Pine River Puppy Mill Need Homes

The Golden Valley Humane Society has been granted custody of more than 130 dogs and puppies rescued from horrible conditions at a Pine River breeding facility earlier this year.

Since getting the animals this summer, the Humane Society has been able to help them, but Animal Humane Society Director of Operations Kathie Johnson told Channel 12 News that many have a long way to go. 

Many different kinds of dogs are up for adoption, people can choose from 75 puppies and 65 dogs, reports Channel 12 News. But because of the inhumane conditions the animals were found in, many will need extra special care in the simple things like being house trained or learning to be social and interacting with others.

Johnson told Channel 12 News that the dogs and puppies have never lived in a home, so the whole experience will be new to them.

The Humane Society reports that the animals will be available for adoption at all five Twin Cities locations. 

Not only will the rescued dogs and puppies be available for adoption, but the puppies born to some of them since being at the Humane Society will be available for adoption in the near future, reports Channel 12 News.
