Editor's Notebook: A Letter to Plymouth MN Patch Readers

Plymouth MN Patch Editor Stefanie Briggs says goodbye to the community.

Dear Plymouth MN Patch readers,

Life is full of changes. Change is what marks major and minor moments in our lives, helps us learn, grow and become who we are.

Take some of the recent changes in my life. I became a mother for the first time this year, which is one of the biggest changes of all. You are suddenly in charge. You are thrust into the deepest part of responsibility there is. And you hold this tiny, bundle of joy and all of life's emotions run through you at full speed. You take him home and each day is something new. Today he smiled without it being gas. Tomorrow he holds his head up on his own. In a few months, he starts to crawl and laughs out loud at the silliest things.

When I returned from maternity leave this spring, my job changed. I became the Golden Valley Patch editor as well as the Plymouth MN Patch editor. Working through these changes I got to know a neighboring community and many of its residents and advocates.

Launching and running Plymouth MN Patch for the past two and a half years has been a special and exhilarating experience for me. Many things personal and professional have happened for me since July 2011. I'm proud to have worked and continue to live in this thriving, vibrant and friendly community.

Being able to report and be a part of what's going on in Plymouth has been inspiring. And this site wouldn't have continued to grow without you, the readers and community of Plymouth MN Patch. You have truly made the job a great experience.

And the most recent change involves another phase for Plymouth MN Patch and myself. My last day with Patch will be Tuesday, Oct. 15. And though my time with Patch is ending, Plymouth MN Patch will still be here.

This is your site, your online community and now more than ever there are different ways for you to participate, inform, educate and share information with each other. And I hope that you will do so on Plymouth MN Patch.

I appreciate having this opportunity to report on the Plymouth community. Thank you for all your support and hard work. Everyone I've met and worked with has been an inspiration for what they do and the great changes they've made here and continue to make here.

I'm sure I'll see you around. I live here with my family and love it. I hope to raise my son in a safe, healthy, vibrant community. We love being here.

Sincerely,
Stefanie Briggs
