Free Public CPR Training Set To Resume On September 26 In Plymouth

Heart Safe Plymouth will resume offering free CPR/AED training to the public under COVID-19 guidelines. Training sessions are held on the second floor of the Plymouth Public Safety Building, 3400 Plymouth Blvd., adjacent to City Hall.

Upcoming trainings include:
- 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26
- 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14
- 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17
- 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18
- 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21
The one-hour training sessions are open to teenagers and adults who are interested in learning to help save lives. Participants learn hands-only CPR – chest compressions without mouth-to-mouth breaths – and how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

COVID-19 Guidelines
Per Minnesota Department of Health guidelines, class sizes are limited to 12 participants and face coverings are required. Participants are encouraged to practice social distancing (stay 6 feet apart). Hand sanitizers, disinfectant wipes and soap are available to participants at each training session.
In addition, Heart Safe Plymouth asks participants to screen themselves for symptoms. Registrants with a fever, chills or shortness of breath and a new cough, new sore throat, new muscle aches, new headaches, or new loss of smell or taste are asked to cancel their registration and stay home.
Heart Safe Plymouth Background
Heart Safe Plymouth training courses are available through a partnership between the Plymouth Public Safety Department and Rotary Club of Plymouth. More than 6,340 participants have been trained.
Plymouth was designated a Heart Safe Community in 2013 by the American Heart Association. The program recognizes efforts to improve systems for preventing deaths caused by sudden cardiac arrest.
