Fundraisers, Support Abound For Jablonski

Since the eventful Wayzata and St. Benilde-Margaret game Dec. 30, people from across the state continue to raise funds and show support for Jack Jablonski and his family.

There's no denying that the Dec. 30 boy's junior varsity hockey game of Wayzata v. Benilde-St. Margaret was life changing.

For hockey player Jack Jablonski, 16, a hard hit has paralyzed him and it is unsure if he will regain full mobility.

Since then people from across the state and nation have been finding ways to support the Jablonski family.

Today there is a charity golf tournament that will raise money for the Jack Jablonski Fund. The event will be held at the CreeksBend Golf Course in New Prague starting at 10 a.m. Registration is limited to 56 golfers and can be done online. The tournament is being hosted by twincitiesgolf.com, and it will be the first January tournament held outdoors in the 15-year history of the website (gotta love this unseasonably warm weather).

Since going online a few days ago, the Jack Jablonski Fund has already received more than $30,000 in donations. Donations can also be made in person at any Wells Fargo location, or can be mailed to: Jack Jablonski Fund, P.O. Box 16387, St. Louis Park, MN, 55416.

And Jan. 7, at a Chuck-A-Puck event held during the Wayzata v. Blaine game, a new twist happened to a familiar fundraiser.

According to the Star Tribune article, the Wayzata player that made contact with Jablonski at the Dec. 30 game threw a puck into the rink with the No. 13.

Also, on that same day Jack's mother, Leslie Jablonski, said Jack , which wasn't expected of him so soon.
