According to the MnDOT website:Â
Motorists will encounter a closure and a detour as the Rockford Road ramps at Hwy 169 remain closed.Â
The westbound Rockford Road ramp to southbound Hwy 169 and the southbound Hwy 169 ramp to eastbound Rockford Road were closed over the weekend as crews began repairing and resurfacing Hwy 169 between Hwy 55 and 77th Avenue. The heavy rainfall throughout the weekend delayed the ramps from opening at the previously scheduled day and time.Â

The ramps will re-open by 5 a.m. Tuesday, June 18. Motorists should use the 49th Avenue or the 36th Avenue ramps as alternative routes.
Throughout the past 10 years, extensive repairs to the 7.5 mile stretch of the highway have prolonged the life of the road. Current cracks in the road, declining pavement ride quality indexes and drainage issues necessitate pavement reconstruction. The $12.2 million project will improve the existing and future mobility of the road and provide a smoother road surface. The project also includes installing new guardrails, and improving bus lanes and pedestrian accessibility.Â
