Plymouth Fire Department Lifts Recreational Fire Ban

The Plymouth Fire Department has lifted the ban on recreational fires in Plymouth. 

Fires requiring a burn permit still are not allowed.

According to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, fire danger is now low compared to the previous weeks this fall. 

Earlier this month , the Plymouth Fire Department had prohibited all open burning --including recreational fires -- in Plymouth. This was due to dry conditions and wind creating potentially dangerous fire conditions across much of the region.

According to the National Weather Service, occasional drizzle will continue this evening and into Friday morning with a slight chance of rain after 1 p.m. tomorrow. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent with amounts less than a tenth of an inch possible. There could also be patchy fog before 9 a.m. tomorrow morning.

Friday's forecast looks cloudy with a high near 52 and low winds getting up to mayb 11 mph. Saturday continues to be mostly sunny with a high near 59 and calm winds. Sunday looks to be mostly sunny with a high near 72 and there is a chance of showers on Monday with a high near 61.

Even with cooler weather and more chances of rain, fire conditions can change quickly.
