Plymouth Metrolink Drivers Recognized
Two Metrolink transportation drivers were recognized at the March 13 Plymouth City Council meeting.
According to a recent press release:
Every year Plymouth Metrolink, with the assistance of First Transit staff, conducts passenger surveys on all fixed route and dial-a-ride buses.
A portion of the annual survey is dedicated to driver performance.

Driver awards are based upon the annual survey results, staff evaluations and driver performance.
The Plymouth Metrolink transit system provides express commuter bus service, local bus service and dial-a-ride service.

Plymouth Metrolink 2011 Dial-A-Ride Award
Dollian Davis has been with First Transit since March 2004 driving Plymouth Metrolink Dial-A-Ride. Dollian has been recognized by Plymouth Metrolink customers on several occasions for her exceptional customer service skills. The most recent award was last year when Dolly received the Award for 2010 Plymouth Metrolink Dial-A-Ride Driver of the Year.
Dial-A-Ride passengers wrote about Dollian in the survey this fall that she is generous, courteous and meets all their expectations. One rider wrote, “I can be feeling bad and Dolly always is very cheerful with a great happy smile for everyone.” Another rider wrote that Dollian is polite, well mannered and an all-around safe and friendly person and treats everyone like family.
Dollian's outstanding connection with passengers, first-rate customer service skills, and safe driving record make her an outstanding choice for the Dial-A-Ride Driver Award.
Plymouth Metrolink 2011 Fixed Route Award
Ger Yang has been with First Transit since December 2001. He started driving Plymouth local shuttle routes and then the express routes. Although Ger has driven other First Transit services, he continually returns to drive for Plymouth Metrolink. Ger has been driving Plymouth Metrolink Route 776 for three years and receives praise from many of his passengers.
In the 2011 Annual Survey, Fixed route passengers wrote this about Ger:
"Ger has a professional appearance at all times. He is terrific, friendly and always on time. Ger is courteous, professional and cares a lot about his customers. He is very patient and pleasant with all riders. He keeps a clean bus. Safety is important to him. Passengers say they feel safe when Ger is in the driver’s seat."
Ger has an excellent safety record and does an exceptional job of getting passengers to their destination in a safe and timely manner. His riders appreciate his friendly manner. Ger is a deserving candidate for this honor.
