Plymouth Police conducted a crosswalk sting to educate drivers on stopping for pedestrians in time for back to school.

They weren't just sitting.

It's been done in other cities as well. Often police pull over more than one vehicle at a time and discover many drivers are simply distracted or didn't notice people trying to cross the street at the crosswalk.
The sting was done near a park with many families and children nearby. The operation shed light on an issue that arises for back to school safety for children, families and drivers.
