When making the decision to become a "Home Alone" family (and we're not talking about the movie), a child's age is not the only consideration.
Some children might function well alone at home while others might not be ready to assume the responsibility of self-care.
Â
The Plymouth Police and Fire departments’ Home Alone Workshop helps parents evaluate if their child is ready to be home alone, helps them prepare their homes so that it is safe and ready for a stay-at-home child, and creates house rules to keep families working together. Children must be 8-10 years of age to participate in the Home Alone Workshop. Parents and kids attend the workshop together.
Workshops are set for 6:30-8:15 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, and Thursday, March 22.
