Follow and share these tips to help protect yourself and others against package theft:
- Check your mailbox daily and promptly collect your packages. If needed, ask a trusted neighbor to bring your mail or packages inside.
- While traveling, place a mail hold at your local post office, or ask a trusted neighbor or family member to secure your mail and packages on your behalf.
- Customize your delivery by providing delivery instructions online. Request that delivery carriers leave packages in less conspicuous spots, such as a side door or within a fenced area.
- Check the delivery status – some retailers offer text message alerts for deliveries.
- Schedule deliveries to arrive at a time when someone is home.
- Residents in multi-unit buildings should request that management secure deliveries.
