VIDEO: Semi Gets Towed Out of Pond On I-494 In Plymouth
Friday afternoon a semi trailer slid off into a pond from the southbound lane at the Rockford Road exit of 494 in Plymouth.
It was an unlucky day for at least one person who was driving a semi when it slid off the southbound lane of 494 at the Rockford Road exit in Plymouth.
Traffic was backed up on the northbound lanes of 494 for several exits as the home commute began at 3 p.m. and continued during high traffic time.
Lt. Eric Roeske with the State Patrol said that the semi went off the road, through a freeway fence and onto a pond at 1:18 p.m. Jan. 13. There were no injuries reported or other vehicles involved.

Towing crews were still on the scene as of 4 p.m. and traffic was still moving slowly.
According to this Kare 11 report, this is the third semi trailer that has gone off a highway or major roadway in the last three weeks in Minnesota.

An incident report will be filed next week sometime that will have more information regarding the driver of the semi and could include why this happened.
