
Two events are coming up aimed at helping parents with kids in the community.
The first is a workshop for families and parents. Plymouth Police Department will host a "Home Alone" workshop for parents and guardians 7-8:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, in the Plymouth Public Safety Building, second-floor training room, 3400 Plymouth Blvd.
The workshop will help parents and guardians evaluate whether a child is able to be left home alone. Participants will learn how to prepare their homes to be safe environments for children and create house rules.

Cost is $5 per adult. Class size is limited to 30 participants; early registration is encouraged. For more information or to register, call 763-509-5198.
The other event is a fun one for kids to get involved with. A Kids’ Garage Sale will is slated from 12 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, at the Plymouth Creek Center, 14800 34th Ave.

More than 25 families have registered for a table to sell items, including children’s toys, clothes and games. There is no cost to browse the merchandise and the sale is open to the public.
