VIDEO: Sit And Spin At This Shanty On Medicine Lake
This weekend was busy for the 2012 Art Shanty Projects on Medicine Lake in Plymouth.

One creates playground equipment and another plays on it. One creates art with playground elements. All three were enjoying the fruits of their labor Jan. 14 at their group's Sit-and-Spin Shanty on Medicine Lake in Plymouth.
Bridget Beck of Oakdale said the playground elements are something she uses with her art while friend Tory Roff works on creating playground equipment. Eric Bridean of Southwest Minneapolis simply enjoys playing on a playground.
The three friends along with Warren Samuel and Dan Isaacs created the shanty, which is that can be explored right off the shore at East Medicine Lake Park.

Since 2004, Medicine Lake has been the epicenter of a fun, new way to bring art to an otherwise unused space with the Art Shanty Project, which brings interaction to art.
Inspired by a favorite childhood toy, the Sit-and-Spin Shanty is a fun way to look at light, form and energy. If you don't mind getting a little dizzy it's a fun place to be, day or night.
