The temporary drop-off site for tree debris in the parking lot of West Medicine Lake Park will close after today, Tuesday, June 25. The second temporary drop-off site in the Bass Lake Playfield parking lot -- along with the regular city-operated yard waste site -- will continue to accept tree debris.
The Bass Lake Playfield drop-off, 5450 Northwest Blvd., will be open 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday this week. The regular yard waste site, 14900 23rd Ave. N., will operate its normal hours of 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. It is likely next week that the regular yard waste site will operate extended hours of 3 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. (The site is typically closed on Monday andTuesday.)
Parks and Recreation Director Diane Evans said that the status of the Bass Lake Playfield site will be re-evaluated later this week. A decision to close the site or keep it open will depend upon available space at the regular yard waste site and how the temporary drop-off operation is affecting other activities at the park.

The city will not be conducting a curbside pick up of debris. Residents are responsible for disposing of their own tree and yard waste debris.
“We hope that the temporary sites and extended hours at the yard waste site have helped ease the burden a bit on homeowners as they have dealt with the effects of the storm,” said City Manager Laurie Ahrens.
