First Minnesota McDonald's Marks 60 Years With 60 Cent Burgers

They're giving out free cake and ice cream, too.

ROSEVILLE, MN — Minnesota's very first McDonald's restaurant location is celebrating its 60th year with old school prices Monday. The 2075 Snelling Avenue North location in Roseville, which opened September 1957, is selling 60-cent hamburgers and cheeseburgers while workers wearing retro McDonald's uniforms.

Customers can also treat themselves to free cake and ice cream, KARE 11 reported.

The original building on Snelling, which was red-and-white, was torn down in 1972 and replaced by a larger structure, according to the Pioneer Press. That building was then torn down in 1998 and replaced by the one that remains today.
