Roseville's Sen. John Marty at State Fair Panel Session Saturday
Marty will talk about the 2013 state legislative session and gains made for the environmental movement. The panel session starts at 1 p.m. at the DFL booth, on Dan Patch Boulevard.

Roseville State Sen. John Marty will be a guest panelist Saturday at the DFL Booth at the 2013 Minnesota State Fair, speaking about gains made for the environmental movement during the 2013 legislative session.Â
The state DFL's Saturday panel discussion begins at 1 p.m. and is titled  "Promises Made, Promises Kept: Environmental interest sees gains." Marty will be joined by state Rep. Melissa Hortman,DFL-Brooklyn Center.Â
The DFL booth is located on Dan Patch Ave. two blocks west of the Snelling Ave. entrance.Â

Promises made, promises kept: Environmental interest sees gains
"The 2013 legislative session stands apart from others by the availability of new money for the environment. After years of budget cuts and reallocations, state agencies received a boost in funding. In addition to funding, the DFL created a solar standard for the state. Similar to the existing renewable electricity standard with a goal of 1.5 percent of electricity generated from solar by 2020.
